Evidence Based Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Better Futures for Children advocates and supports the dissemination and implementation of evidence based school and after-school VET programs, interventions and practices.  Millions of adolescents and youth in Kenya are not in education, employment and training (NEET). Available research suggests that vocational education and training (VET) improves education, employment and training outcomes for NEET adolescents and youth.

However, not all VET approaches and methods are effective. Evidence based VET approaches/ methods and models have been found to be effective. Yet, implementation of evidence based VET is limited in TVET training institutions in Kenya.  Supporting the dissemination and implementation of evidence based VET is a strategic way of integrating millions of NEET adolescents and youth into education, employment and training.  Dissemination and implementation of evidence based VET programs, interventions and practices in TVET institutions in Kenya is limited.
