Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Readiness Assessments

Better Futures for Children undertakes participatory readiness assessments with teachers, school managers, policy and community “gate keepers” to gauge their readiness for dissemination and implementation of evidence based school and after-school programs and interventions.  The assessments help us to gauge schools and communities’ readiness for dissemination and implementation of evidence based programs, interventions and practices, and assesses policy, institutional and individual factors likely to facilitate or hinder implementation of evidence based school and after school programs, interventions and practices. Research suggests that dissemination and implementation of evidence programs and interventions often fail because those leading the implementation have not established organizational readiness for use of research evidence.
