Better Futures for Children

D&I Capacity Building and Training

Sustained dissemination and implementation (D&I) of evidence based school and after-school programs, interventions and practices in schools and communities require targeted and tailored capacity building and training of school and community stakeholders. Targeted stakeholders include teachers, school and community prevention advocates, novice and mid-career level educational and social science researchers from local universities and teacher training colleges interested in dissemination and implementation science research.

Better Futures for Children works with and engages D&I researchers and institutions in and outside Kenya. While most D&I science research capacity building efforts mainly target novice and accomplished researchers in the health sector, novice and senior researchers working school prevention programs and or initiatives have not received this support. Our D&I capacity building efforts include training, mentorship, coaching and other innovative and cost effective capacity building models and methods relevant to D&I science research in schools and community settings.
